2009 World Series - From My View

It’s pretty sweet being able to say that you were at 3 World Series games.  However, when you are there on a work assignment you don’t really get to enjoy the game like people would think.  Imagine going to an amusement park and not being able to get on the rides, or going to a casino and not being able to gamble.  Here are shots I was able to get during the 3 games.  This includes me in the Tunnels under the stadium (tired) and a shot of what Dinner was like during Game 4.

Game 5 - Still pregame. Another hour to go

There is a hockey game next door at the Arena. We think many of our fans went there first.

Travel: Trip Home from Colorado Springs

Ok after an interesting trip….I was just a little too tired to take many pictures on the way home.  However, if you really want to know what’s allowed thru security check point at the Airport, the Colorado Springs airport has a nice little display set up on a table just before security explaining the 3-1-1.  Just 1 question, does anyone really take a complete bottle of soy sauce with them in their carry on? Really? (look closely at the prohibited items picture)

Oh and the shot of the American Airlines plane (I was too tired to walk to the window so I took it while I was in line for boarding), not that the AA planes are silver and this one isn’t.  That while stuff if about 6 or 7 inches and really hard ice stuck to the plane.  De-Icing anyone!

On Assignment - Colorado Springs (Game Day)

As you can see by the pictures the pictures game day didn’t get any better.  Yes the temp when arriving for the game was 19 degrees (as shown in the picture) which only means

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! ITS COLD!

But that seems to be the theme of this trip. One more thing about the sense of humor of people in Colorado.  In one of the pictures you will see where it says on the steps “Are you short of breath climbing these steps?”  It could be heart disease………oh wait……my response to that message is the following

·         I’m in Colorado at a distance of over 6000 ft. over sea level (They don’t call it mile high for nothing)

·         I just climbed from a lower level, thru the mid-level steps, thru the top level steps (because there is no elevator to get up and down the stadium levels), for a total of over 120 steps (or 3 floors of a building)

·         It is exactly 1 degree Fahrenheit outside

·         I’m not from Colorado, I live at sea level……

Maybe then I’m out of breath because I’m cold, walked over 3 floors of a building, and hell I’m not used to clean air…….Just had to point that out.

On Assignment - Colorado Springs

With a High of 39 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 1 degree Fahrenheit, this
was a cold assignment. Not only that but this would happen to be an
assignment at an OUTDOOR football stadium. There are many ways I can explain
the trip but 1 way for sure I know works IT WAS COLD!  Even ended up with a Hummer as a free upgrade, and it was needed. Also note no snow early in the day as we arrive and note the white stuff behind me later in the day, there be snow in them there hills!

Travel: Trip to Colorado Springs

As part of my “real” job, I had a Road Trip to Colorado Springs, Co.  As would be my luck, The flight was scheduled for 6p but delays kept the flight from taking off until 7:45p.  There was supposed to be a connection in Denver, and then a hop to Colorado Springs, but with the delay, I ended up having to get driven from Denver to Colorado Springs since I missed my connection.
